The Art Club has a trip every year to go visit an art museum near the state of Minnesota.  This year we decided to take a trip to Milwaukee to the Milwaukee Art Museum. Twelve girls, including me, and two professors gathered up at the information desk at the student center at 3 p.m. We packed our vans and were ready to go. On our way to Milwaukee the girls and I introduced each other and began to converse about our art classes and what we were expecting to see in Milwaukee.

After a four-hour ride we stopped at Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant. We had so much food. From salads, to pasta to chicken, and even had my favorite desert, Tiramisu. It sure was a great dinner. We were all talking to the professor about our classes and future. The professors gave us a lot of information that was useful for our future careers and for our classes now.

It was getting late so we left to the hotel where we were going to spend the night at. The hotel’s design was so modern and the rooms were incredible. The furniture off it had a “future home” type of look and it sure went with the overall design of the building. We were expected to be up by eight in the morning the next day so we all went to bed because it had been a long day.

Early next morning we went to the Milwaukee Public Market. This place is amazing!!! It has everything you need! Well food wise. Such as breakfast, sweets, lunch and even dinner. We decided to go to the coffee station for a doze of caffeine. We all sure did need some coffee that morning to get pumped for the next three hours we were going to spend at the museum.

Some of my friends bought cheese curds and fresh grapes to eat for breakfast. I looked at them sorta confused of their choices. However, I still tried the cheese curds because I had never had them before. And I can say they were a great choice! I really liked them.

After breakfast we headed out to the Milwaukee Art Museum. I fell in love with the design of the building! The parking lot also had a great design. You can see it on the picture below.

As we walked in the museum my eyes where looking everywhere. There was just so much to see that was so impacting. The structure of the building and the view of Lake Michigan out of the windows from the museum was phenomenal. And then we began to look at all the artwork that was mounted on the walls of the museum. I like how the walls were painted in different pastel soft colors which helped the paintings stand out more from the frames that surrounded them. Although, some of the other walls were just plain white and well it still help the statues, paintings, and other media stand out. Here are some examples:

After going around the whole museum, the girls and I decided to go out to eat lunch at a sub restaurant. I can honestly say that we became more closer than the first day we had met in the Art Club. I know for a fact that I will constantly see these amazing girls around campus and can sit down and chat about anything. And I know this because on our way home we were laughing, singing, and even went out to eat dinner together that same day.

Who knew that art and a trip could get a group of girls to become friends. I sure do recommend this or any kind of trip with a group of friends and you will tell how much a friendship can grow. I sure did have a great time enjoying the city, the art in the museum, the FOOD, and the the great times with the girls. (:
